I walked in the rain tonight. I had to laugh, two days ago, I was wandering aroun in a heatwave.
Then tonight we are having a storm. Wild wind, rain that goes sideways and the tide was so in. and the waves were crashing up onto streets. YES! June weather.
So I attempted to make my way down the streets, wearing flipflops, jeans, and a black sweater with my new red scarf around my neck, it kept flying in the wind, leaving me feeling a bit like a super hero.
I attended the play of my siblings tonight. It is a childrens show, simple stuff about fairies and believing in them (not Peter pan, but still cute) and I was forced to sit next to one of the biggest blow-hards in Port Townsend. A man who believes all of his own hype. He kept getting up and sitting down and he would guffaw at every line his daughter said. It was like sitting next to the laugh-track machine.
I thought about kicking him in the kidneys afterwards, but that would have been in poor taste and it was Kit and Mike's night. Afterwards there was a party, and I went with them to that. It was over-achieving parents, discussing local politics, weight-loss, and clever witty stuff. My mother owes me. I was elected to attend tonight, since My brother just left for his west coast tour of a play he is in, and my mother had her cabaret act tonight. *sighs* there was no one near my age. I had more fun hanging out with the 9-12 set. We ate cookies, sheetcake (you know the best pieces are the ones with the roses in the corner) and I had some weak tea. I had to escape, someone began to talk to me in that small town way, where they act interested, but they are truly interested in acquiring gossip. I took Kit and Mike to Elevated Ice Cream and bought them candy, we went home. Home is a nice place.
I have earned my title, of favorite child, once again. Because I put together my mothers new computer desk, and I set up her brandspankingnew printer/scanner/copier.
Yes Miss. Gennie is versatile. She can put together a desk, create a new outfit out of nothing, make an omlette, and set up a printer. Now I need to learn some plumbing and I will have it made.
I need some soup.
