[livejournal.com profile] lightprincess89 mentioned a bit of it in her LJ but it seems that one thread of our family goes back to the American revolution and just after the Mayflower. Like woah we say. Mostly our familiarity with our ancestors are with people who came in the mid to late 19th century. Starving Irish and stoic Scandinavian folk. So this is kind of exciting stuff that my Mom found. Some of the family goes all the way back to Devon and Norfolk. Mind you those folks were living there in the 16th and 17th century. Incredibly interesting stuff though. The ones that came here settled in New Hampshire and later Vermont. Now I am keen to go and visit and see if I can find any headstones.

Perhaps you and I can file our applications to the DAR together?

Oooh yeah. I am having the nice folks at the DAR look up whether one relative qualifies.
