I am feeling a craving for timpano. It is so much fun to make and requires a fair amount of prep and time but the end result is ridiculously satisfying. I will have to wait to make that for a bit.
Next week we will have some guests staying with us. I look forward to cooking for one of the people. The other person I may have to refrain from stabbing or poisoning. This is the sign of a good host I suppose -the ability to not commit a crime at the dinner table. The person in question does not eat a meal without saying, "yeah it is okay but it doesn't compare to my father/mother/dead cousin's dog's version of this dish."
It would be like... having sex with someone and telling them while in the act, "yeah this is okay but it isn't as good as the time I had sex with so and so."
So yes. Mr. Jenner will need to keep the sharp knives away from me during dinner.
I know I know I could just avoid making that person dinner but it is my damn kitchen and dining room and I will make dinner. Also if he pushes it I will just make him feel awkward and uncomfortable in a polite and civilized way. Or maybe I can train Senor Onion to spit up on him.
Last night I made Shepherd's pie. It wasn't too bad -even if the oven caught fire at one point. (dinner should be fun)
Tonight it will be grilled sausages, polenta and roasted bell peppers. It is one of my favorite things to eat.
