Last night we watched Formula 51. It was brilliantly insane and hilarious. If you enjoyed The Transporter then I would suggest watching this. It has Samuel L. Jackson being...well, Samuel L. Jackson. There is a chick with a gun, British gangsters, amusing commentary on English-American relations, stuff 'sploding, high-speed car chases, Sean Pertwee as a corrupt cop and Meatloaf as a Caftan-wearing drug lord. What is not to like? Alright so it isn't French New Wave or some low-budget documentary about autistic kids who create complex works of art through topiary but it is good Friday night fun.

Today I made an almond cake. It came alright but it wasn't perfect. Maybe the recipe wasn't ideal or I should have used a different cake pan. But we have cake and people like cake. I think I have also conquered cake in general. Time to work on something else.

I'll see what I can do. Let me get some autistic kids and some large gardening shears.

there truly is nothing more warm-fuzzy-inducing than Samuel L. kicking ass with a golf club...in a kilt.

*Loved* Formula 51! Has the best promotional tagline ever: Nice Wheels. Dirty Deals. And One Mean Mother In A Kilt. :-)

Although, I've had trouble watching Robert Carlyle in things since I watched Cracker a while back... :::shudder:::

My question is, "Why no Best Picture nomination?" The Oscars need a "Most kick-ass picture of the year" category.
