I have a lot to say sometimes.

Today a couple of friends came over and we made ice cream and sorbet. They also played with Senor Onion because he knows how to woo the ladies. I also served tea and cookies because I am secretly eighty-seven. "Have some cookies. Want a nap?" I helped a friend make lavender & honey ice cream and a green tea ice cream. Esoteric flavors but still pretty good.
For dinner I roasted a whole chicken. It was moist and delicious. If there is one thing I do well, it is roast a chicken. I served that with a caprese salad (with fancy-pancy heirloom tomatoes) and leftover slices of cold quiche. There was strawberry sorbet for dessert.
I haven't finished Harry Potter as I have shit to do. As for those who have finished, I am not saying you haven't shit to do, but I have a baby who kinda is demanding and wants to be fed, changed and generally attended to. As for the book, it is enjoyable. It isn't Turgenev but it keeps a person entertained.
Once I am done with that I will start reading A History of Venice by John Julius Norwich. Did you know that Norwich named one of his children Artemis? (I read one of her books) Quite a name. (this is where you envision me raising my eyebrows in a manner that says, "well...that's different." while I sip a cocktail) Apparently it is more of a nickname. Among her many names (she and I have something in common) is Opportune. Not a lot of Opportunes on the playground anymore. I suppose all the Kaleighs and Madisons crowd a girl out.
When you have a lot of names, you end up usually going by something short and easy to recall. Tempting to change my nickname to something more flighty. I shall now be known as Viva. *laughs all the way to the bar on that one*
Mr. Jenner needs to become a peer just so I can show off all of my names someday. My only other experience was when I got married and the wedding invitation had all of them. A girl gets her fun where she can.
Alright. Enough tangents for one night. I have a baby to amuse with my wit and candor and a book or two to read.

Date: 2007-07-23 04:58 pm (UTC)I am trying to think of something to do with some of the leftover chicken besides make chicken pie. I have had a lot of chicken pie lately. Maybe I will make some kind of pasta or salad with the stuff. I put in half a lemon in the cavity of the chicken and brushed on olive oil when I roasted the whole bird so it has a good flavor.

Date: 2007-07-23 05:20 pm (UTC)Ted also has many names, and my mom was a little aggravated that I made her put all of them on the wedding invitations.

Date: 2007-07-25 04:17 pm (UTC)Ned is the name of that one dorky guy in Groundhog Day... so I can understand the apprehension toward hooking up with a Ned.
It's your bro Tom
