I have been in the doldrums as of late. A combination of poor sleep and doing my best to fail as a parent on a daily basis hasn't helped all that much.
I try not to let everything get me down too much. My kid is fine and healthy so I need to snap out of it and distract myself accordingly.
Hey at least my hair looks kind of cute and my new purse arrived in the post and it is swank.

Yesterday I made cardamom ice cream and today I made a citrus sorbet. Way to go ice cream maker!
For dinner tonight I made lamb meat loaf and twice-baked potatoes because I am talented like that.

You know what I could really go for right now? A champagne cocktail. Several of them. All lined up neatly in a row. I would wear a fancy ballgown, drink champagne cocktails and make witty and amusing remarks to people like I was Nora Charles or something.
Here's to daily fantasies.

I think you should work around your house with your new purse. I think you should go for a cocktail. Somehow I cannot picture hords of breastfeeding french women giving up their daily wine. I'll grant you that some french citizens are weird but definitely do not bear sequel of having had liquored breast milk. Just my two cents!

cardamon ice cream sounds delightful. I have to work out on a cardamon muffin recipe.

that is a very good idea for the cardamon. i have been thinking about cardamon sugar, i wonder if it could be made the same way we make vanilla sugar.

sorry you're feeling out of sorts - lack of sleep can truly drive one insane. you are not failing as a parent though it seems all the good parents feel they are (and the ones that truly are don't notice or care). lately i feel like i'm failing as a human being - but i suppose that is another LJ post altogether. i hope you feel better.

It isn't too bad. I just need to be a bit more active. Besides I really can't complain, things are pretty good.
