I am in the mood to create. The sort of mood that inspires me to do something like cook pheasant or paint a wall aubergine. It's a ridiculous state to be in but I will contain myself.
So far this year I have conquered cake and ice cream. I can make all kinds of variations in my sleep. I understand all the little minute details having to do with the chemistry or alchemy of such things. What should I do next?
I have to begin making the Christmas cake soon so that is just a minor thing to attend to in the coming months. I will bake it, preserve it in a lot of alcohol and it will sit in a darkened cupboard. (A bit like William Holden only less bleeding to death.)
Alright enough macabre jokes for the hour. I need to look through my kitchen and see what kind of trouble I can get up to today.

It's a fruitcake. But yes I will save some for you. It has a layer of marzipan and royal icing. It is wicked rich.
Pretty much this coming Christmas I will be going on a baking bender that will border on obsessive. I will even have a proper Christmas party so people can eat until they hurt.
