I took care of my civic duty and got exercise. I pushed Senor Onion in his stroller up the viciously steep hill and voted. As a reward for the exercise and being an active citizen I went to Cupcake Royale and bought myself a red velvet cupcake. As we have discussed many times their cupcakes aren't the sex but sometimes a girl needs a cupcake. It is fast becoming a tradition for me. Voting = cupcakes. Of course it would be great if the polling station handed out cupcakes but those good old days are gone. My Mother will recall with fondness the age of voting when you would get coffee and a donut for your good effort. Of course I am sure once upon a time one's vote involved promises of liquor, loose women and laudanum. Oh the good old days of Tammany Hall and true political machines that knew what the voter wanted. Now you are lucky if you get a sticker.
I voted a straight platform of more cake and breasts. Because everyone can get behind at least one of the subjects.
We walked home while Senor Onion chatted to me and chewed on his toy fish.

It's the combination of a cake that is too dry and frosting that is too...meh.
I know there must be an amazing cupcake out there. I can envision it.
So the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon that came from Cook's Illustrated was actually good. What the hell. It was delicious and it was the first time I cooked pork absolutely perfect.
I am going to make this for Christmas Eve Dinner.

I am all for voter bribes. Really - at least they get something, rather than the bosses. I would vote for pretty much anybody if they paid me a hundred bucks.
