another boring post for my friend ray.
Jul. 10th, 2002 12:05 amoh yeah, so this is the part where I update. *thinks*
So it was my brother Mikes birthday today. He turned eleven. We took him to the market to wander around, then to FAO Schwartz so he could spend some birthday money and then to the Museum of Flight. Definitely a beautifully inspiring place. I had not been there since I was eleven. I remember having a good time with my grandfather. It helped that I was a patient child when with him, and listened to his stories about airplanes and the history that went with them.
I liked the exhibit about the space race and the Apollo 11 landing.
The real fun (especially for my brother mike who has a deep interest in presidential history) was going on the first Air-Force One. It was a jet-plane created by Boeing, first used by Eisenhower, then Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon. It was the Plane that Johnson came down on, to Dallas after the assassination, and later took his oath. Nixon made his famous visit to China, on this plane, and Eisenhower was the first plane to ride in a Jet plane. The history was really interesting. It was a terrifically bright, breezy day, and we sat on the grass for awhile, watching planes take off left and right on Boeing field. It is always awe-inspiring sight at moments, watching planes take off with ease and speed.
Then long long dull drives, looking at dry grass in traffic, and reading my book.
We came home, had dinner, and then I present Mike with the request he made the day before, a blackberry pie and strawberry ice cream from

(you can order stuff to be shipped to you anywhere)
I feel so exhausted, yet I know I won't be able to sleep.
I have raspberry jam to make tomorrow.
