So the coat is a failure.
The upside to today is that I baked a delicious pound cake (thank you to Sophia Loren for the recipe) and I found a fantastic deal on a flight for my brother Tom. He hasn't been home for Christmas in a couple of years and he will be home in time to attend our sister Kitty's 18th birthday. It makes everyone happy.
Mind you I never want to wait this long to book a flight. (this is partly the nature of Tom being a poor actor/waiter) All the searching and waiting and fear was a bit like playing a high-stakes game of craps.

But back to the coat I suspect I may have to go make the time to visit Nordstrom or Macy's (without a baby) and try on coats. I just want a good quality wool coat that doesn't make me look dumpy yet fits my broad shoulders and sausage arms.

The Christmas Mall Weekends started 2 weekends ago. I know because I'm such a dedicated capitalist. *sigh* Weekdays are def. better, all one has to contend with then are mommies with Coach bags and strollers.

I think it helps that this place has clothes that fit and a more clear idea of what the size of the garments are.

You know I just thought of something so horribly amusing that you could do to her.
Remember at your 18th birthday when Kitty broke down in tears because she wasn't getting the attention? You could do your own version of that for her birthday. Imagine the reaction.
