The usual "journal style" I have for my LJ has gone and had a stroke. I am waiting for the Russians to fix this.
In Russia, Journal fix you.
In the mean time I am using something else because I am tired of looking at the visually stroked out version of my f-list. This is what we call a first world problem.
My other first world problem is that I bought this ketchup from Trader Joe's because I was there and the ingredients said it didn't have high fructose corn syrup. (America's other hillbilly heroin)
Well the stupid ketchup is too sweet and lacks the acidity I prefer in my red-based condiments.
Heinz and Hunt's wins this battle royale once more. (I think both companies might have a non-hillbilly heroin version of their ketchup. I should look for that)

As for other adventures; we have been painting the downstairs. We are about a third of the way done. We are even doing the ceiling now as we noticed that the bright sunny color we chose has made the white-ish ceiling look dark, grey and sad. The kind of color Patricia Highsmith would enjoy.
A macabre sort of grey.
So the whole basement will be "Cosmic Cream". It is a sort of buttery-yellow that one might associate with slightly cheap vanilla ice cream or delicious frosting. It makes the room incredibly sunny -which is quite a feat in that it is a basement with a window that doesn't bring in much sunlight.
Damn can I pick colors.

I tend to go with the theme that my Uncle Craig (who worked in area of painting) always stood by, "does this color look like something you might want to eat."
The answer is, "heck yes."

My Mother, the ever gracious Mrs. Chazbot came over yesterday. We took her ever patient Grandson, Senor Onion out with us, while we looked at fabric, fancy ribbon and yarn. We also went to Bakery Nouveau and ate many things and bought many things. I suggest their little lemon tart; which is really a tiny little lemon meringue pie -complete with the carefully piped on meringue that was toasted with the little blow torch. They also do an exquisite caramelized apple tart.
And their bread. Oh their bread. It is so buttery and sexy. You want spread butter, jam or pate all over it and have yourself a time.
Ahem.
Mrs. Chazbot came away with a lot of pretty objects and spent time admiring her Grandson who in her eyes is the most talented and amazing child that ever graced this green Earth. Just ask her. Plus he found her pretty funny too.

This morning we went to Frye's, where we experienced the grand ennui that each and every single employee seems to possess. So many were staring off into space. Leaning against counters. One girl with green eye-shadow spent a significant portion of her time just popping her equally green gum.
I had never thought to coordinate my eye make-up with my gum.
But I suppose I would have to actually take up gum chewing to do such a thing.
Then it was to a giant box of a home improvement store where we bought further supplies to aid us in our attempts to improve thy home.

Now to sit and relax and enjoy a muffin. I baked them this morning.

if you're interested, you can make your own ketchup. it only takes about 4 hours, ten pounds of tomatoes, and enough steam to remove all your wallpaper, and voila! one teeny half-pint of ketchup.
yes, i've done it.

Heinz's organic ketchup lacks the hill billy heroin--it has actual sugar instead!

I buy butter yellow things all the time. My bedroom wall is yellow, my towels, my sheets... it looks horrible on me but I love love love it. Makes everything warmer and happier! Good for you!

I found this old fashion spread, and made an icon for you. I think you need it.

Feel free to use it if it suits you. It screamed "Gennie" to me.
