I wish my nana were alive to hear of this. One of my favorite stories about her was when we were in Oxford (England) eating Dim Sum at a Chinese restaurant full of Chinese-British families on a Sunday afternoon. The dumpling arrived, and she said rather loudly, "I know a dog's dick when I see one!" Heh. She refused to eat the dumpling, naturally. I still don't know what it was made of...now I wonder!!!!

I wouldn't say they are better prepared; most experiences with offal within Asian cuisine was born out of desperate hunger and nasty old economics.
If you look at the peasant cuisine through-out western culture you will notice many similiarities in culinary choices.
