my weekend has been spent scoring free things. I feel shifty and ghetto, like a con artist. My friend Josh and I went to the Bite of Seattle Saturday, acquired many free samples. We went to our friend AnnMarie's and decided we wanted to make mint julips. Why I wouldn't know, because I don't like the drink. Yet we bought tiny bottles of bourbon, went wandering about capitol hill and stole mint from a commune's yard and then made a simple syrup. YUCK. It was entertaining.
Then I made up for that atrocity by mixing vanilla soymilk with kahula. A new drink for children! *laughs*
some how I wandered home. How? I do not know. But I was sober. I ended up at a block party on 65th I was on the bus. these people were on the lawn and they had drinks and they said, COME TO THE PARTY. Well heckfire I can't turn down that sort of invitation. I wandered in. I said hi, I had a rum and coke, and I realized I missed my last bus so I walked 60 blocks and it was really a lovely walk in a strange sort of way. It was calm, quiet and it had cooled down.
mmmm and then I decided to put together my new lamp at three am. WHY???? I did it.
today was heat, more bite of the seattle and hanging with my awesome brother and awesome roomate. I love seattle
oh yeah, um, I have a job.

well, no wonder your mint julep tasted like crap

here's the proper way to make it"

"In a bowl, place several fresh mint sprigs, 1 tsp. of sugar and 1/4 ounce of water. Crush the leaves with a spoon and stir all well. Fill a chilled tumbler with crushed ice, fill with Bourbon, and top with strained mixture. Or place a bit of the mixture into the chilled glass. Add a layer of crushed ice. Continue at least one more time, topping with ice. Pour Bourbon on top. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs."

no get on msn messenger so i can yell at you some more

tsk, I know I know. I wasn't the one making the drinks. It was Josh and AnneMarie who were attempting this...yeah um attempt. never again *laughs* It was one of those moments, where it was really too hot to do anything and we felt silly.
The soy thing I put together turned out rather nice.
Ooof what a weekend, too warm.
