I suspect the sun has died and is never coming back. Really what is going on is that the East Coast is being greedy with the sun and the weather.
I am sure they want to share. We can give them some of our cold weather and rain. A fair trade. Like kids trading things in their lunch. Not exactly a yodel for fritos but close.
We are getting this weather because I planted a garden and brought the AC upstairs. I apologize to all the locals.

In the mean time I am baking bread and slowly mapping out what I want the garden to be one day. The next steps won't likely happen until next year, but there will be a plan.

Speaking of gardens for those who are enamored of the Grey Gardens do check out this blog devoted to all things related to Grey Gardens and Big and Little Edie. Apparently they have made a film about the Edies starring Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore. Yeah. I think I want to see it. Just let me get my marble faun and scarf and I am set.

I think it's because of the sparkly vampires.

I, too, am slowly planning out a garden for next year. Some of it requires plants in small pots this year until they are big enough, rearranging what's already in place, digging out a pathway, and figuring out where the bench and birdbath go...

I'm willing to share. I'll happily take your cold and rain and you can have our heat.

Please.

I don't want the humidity. Really I want 75 degree weather. With a slight breeze.

That is probably one of my most favorite books. I love Betty Smith. She wrote a few other books that I really love. Wasn't it just a beautiful beautiful book?

Yeah. All the details were just so tender and exact.
Joy in the Morning is a sweet book about this very young married couple's first couple of years of marriage. It takes place in the 1920s. He is still in college and they get married despite his family's disapproval of her. And it is just about how they stumble through things, get to know one another and the bride kind of finds herself.

I guess some of it is autobiographical to some extent.
