What I have been up to.

Chores and errands were done today. I went to the market and stocked up on various things, did some dishes, vacuumed the carpets and baked and cooked and cooked and baked. Things are slightly tidier. Though I should fold and put away the laundry. But that is often the state of things.
I made maple syrup cream pie.
It was excellent. Not too sweet, nice custardy texture and great to have in the Autumn. Or whenever.
God Bless the Fannie Farmer baking book.
The savory cheesecake turned out well, though I think I will adjust the recipe because the flavor isn't quite right. But vegetarians will dig it in the end. I hope.
Now I am in my flannel pajamas, getting toasty by the fire.

Tell me how your scone experiment works out.

Date: 2008-11-03 01:10 am (UTC)I'm working through holiday recipes myself. I am in the middle of baking a pumpkin cake I found in Better Homes and Gardens -- pumpkin cake with whipped cream cheese filling and a chocolate ganache on the outside. I think it will be tasty.
