Many things are good today and make me happy.

1. Neighbors on either side of us mowed their lawn so the scent of freshly cut grass is heavy in the air. I love this scent. Especially on a gorgeous day like today. Senor Onion and I watered things in the garden and then we planted some sweet peas in a planter. (another project for him) If all goes well, they will climb up the sides of our deck.

2. My tulips are blooming.
wide open tulip

3. Senor Onion and I went for a walk around the block this morning. If I could I would record the sounds of the birds singing. They start at 4am and will go on until after 8pm. Even now they are singing to each other. It was a good walk. We walked passed our neighbor's impressive front garden. Tons of flowers and foliage. The Sun was out and the trees are pink and purple right now.

4. Having tea with Mr. Jenner. This is one of the many reasons I like the fact that he works from home. We can have lunch/tea together. And since it is so gorgeous today -it was outside on the deck.

5. Spring in Seattle. I think all who live here totally understand that one.

Buying/planting those last Fall and then waiting through the dark and dreary winter turned out to be a great investment. I obviously need a gazillion more.

I think our birds start at 2am for some reason. I love them, but I can't figure out why they start so early--they're not nightingales! Still, I dread the onset of hotter temps when we'll need to use the a/c units--they are so loud that they drown out the birdsong.
Enjoy the lovely weather!!! Those are my favorite kind of tulips, btw. :)

Pretty flowers!

I would happily send you the birds that sing RIGHT OUTSIDE my window an hour or 2 before I need to get up. They make me angry, because I like sleep.

Excellent tulip shot!

It was raining all day today, with temps in the 40s and near gale force winds.

Still waiting for Spring.

It was a very very lucky shot. Most of them were so-so.
What were you doing with our weather?

I absolutely adore the smell of cut grass. It's one of those scents that never fails to put me in a good mood. If Yankee Candle ever did a Cut Grass scented candle, I would buy all of them to tide me over the winter.

What a beautiful flower. When it's a glorious Spring day and a person can just take in their surroundings, it always makes me feel happier and more peaceful in myself. Until the peace is shattered by me noticing that one of the pups is trying to appreciate the flowers by digging them up and has to be swiftly rebuked. Or when they start headbutting one another and trying to pull one another down the steps by the legs. I'd say it was spring fever but for the fact that it's an almost daily occurence.

It is grand to stand on the lawn and just breathe it all in.
You said it best.

Sadly the smell of freshly mown lawns reminds me of my father and therefore I cannot bear it.If I smell them, wherever I am, I have to leave.
