Fantastic piece by Edward Kennedy about health care reform. I would love the idea of prohibiting health insurance companies from charging women higher premiums than men. Typically this is because women tend to go to the doctor more for things like preventative care.

I think I might take the peaches I bought today and maybe make a pie tomorrow. I am having severe pie cravings. There is something rather soothing about making some pastry. I shall see how tomorrow goes. I need to can the relish I have brining and also the jam. Maybe the pie will be a late afternoon activity.
Next weekend we are attending a wedding (FREE CAKE!) and so all of my inane kitchen activities need to be packed in this weekend.
