Senor Onion and I made peach sorbet. To be accurate there was a bit of nectarine tossed in there as well as we had one sitting around needing to be used up. It is a beautiful color. He loves the food processor. He tossed in chopped up peaches/sorbet and helped to push the buttons. Then he added a bit of sugar, lemon juice and water. Then we poured it into the ice cream maker. We watched it as it churned. Later we made watermelon agua fresca. It is the least we can do as it is much too warm to turn on the oven to bake things. Maybe we will make popsicles next.

I am beginning to read an Elizabeth Goudge book my Mother lent me. It will help pass the time. I have the latest David Liss book waiting for me at the library as well. Let's see if I can zip through these in the next couple of weeks. So far this year I have read about 23 books. I am not aiming to read 52 like I did last year, but I figure I ought to get through as much as possible before my brain melts for a few months and I can only read twitter or the back of the cereal box.

I can already feel my brain melting. I keep being distracted by throw pillows and the idea of them. "yeah. Throw pillows. That will make things better." But I have other things to distract me. Like we will be re-upholstering the dining room chairs soon. Maybe I will find some new cloth napkins to distract me from things like throw pillows.

if I had a real freezer, I'd get an ice cream machine presto and steal all your recipes.

For the agua fresca, you puree the watermelon, add water, sugar and lime?

It is a dangerous dangerous habit. "WHAT CAN WE MAKE??"
Pretty much. I usually don't add sugar because the watermelon tastes sweet enough to me. Sometimes I replace the water with sparkling water. Often I reduce the amount of water called for.
