Today was my last massage therapy visit. I am going to miss that congenial Canadian man who helped to fix my back and neck. He gave me a few exercises/tips to help my neck as a lovely door prize. I still have physical therapy left but there will only be one or two more of those to go. Then there is the visit with the GP for a check-in on how the zoloft is treating me. (It's treating me like a lady who had dinner paid for.) It is a cavalcade of medical experiences and I am its reigning Queen. (like my tiara? It's crooked.) Well.. I am a Queen about to hand over my crown and go back to my happy life as one of the regular healthy sorts.

We had plans to hit up the library but we didn't make it. Miss Biscuit napped and so I rolled out pasta with Senor Onion. It was a bit of everything. Spaghetti, linguine and sheets of pasta so I can make ravioli at some point. I am thinking maybe some sort of spinach and cheese combination. I need to look at the cheese selection in the fridge. Or maybe I will go to the grocery store (again! I live in grocery stores) and find something to make this ravioli extra sexy. Or at least mildly attractive and worthy of being asked to dance by Jake Ryan. So yes, pasta was made and then there was more outdoor painting and then lunch and the day got away from us. It happens. Somewhere in all of that I put a rub on this pork butt I got from my meat guy. I will let that sit for a good long time and then eventually I will slow cook that and we will have pulled pork. Pulled pork sandwiches and maybe pulled pork tacos. Porkporkporkpork. I need to make a dessert since we ate the last of the pie. I have some apples. Maybe I will do baked apples wrapped in pastry. I like any excuse to break out more butter.

I think we may have my Mother over for Easter. At least for the afternoon/evening. She plays the organ for two different churches and that weekend she will be getting her religion hard-core. (probably around four or five services what with Mexican mass, Easter vigil and then a couple of services on Sunday) As she likes to say, she is going to be so holy, she glows. I am not quite sure what we will do for dinner. Maybe cook up some lamb or maybe order in Chinese. Chinese food is a slight tradition from my childhood. It was born out of a broken-down car and my Mother's exhaustion. My Father being a chef worked on Easter and the plan at the time was to go down to the restaurant he worked in and have dinner there and maybe see him a bit. Our van at the time was so-so and broke down and my Mother didn't feel like making the journey on foot with two kids. She said, "fuck it". (exact words.) So we ordered Chinese food and the resurrection of the Lord was celebrated with sweet and sour prawns. And Lo it was good. So every so often when we weren't up for ham, there was Chinese. Fortune cookies kind of settle the stomach after a day of Cadbury eggs and chocolate bunnies.

I need to bake smug muffins tonight. They won't be that smug but they will be smug enough.

Oh we have brownies. Okay. This is where I make some horrible confession about what an overly nice wife I am. Mr. Jennerh as brownies for lunch as dessert and he has a thing about not eating the same thing for dessert after dinner and I like to bake way too much so I will make two things to have in the house.
Mind you I will eat brownies any chance I get. This is why we only have a few left. I have been downing them like they are going out of style. (brownie sundae? Hello lover.)

Hi, first time commenter, long time reader (of your public posts). I came across your LJ via Jeremy and I absolutely adore every single one of your posts. Having been raised 2 different kinds of Catholic, I can understand that experience and all the madness and fun within very much. Did you guys ever have the butter lamb? It was a tradition for us on the Julian calendar easter.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi and express appreciation for your posts. You have a wonderfully gorgeous family and your wry sense of humor about the world is fantastic.

I hope someday we get to meet at one of Jeremy's epic parties! I want to steal all of your recipes! (some of which already get tested out in vegetarian format on my boyfriend) :)
