I did something today. I always do something... What was it.
I baked muffins with my son, wrangled children, read stories, started in on a craft project with the kids and harvested things out of the garden.
Oh! A friend sent me jam. Many kinds. Plus a cup and saucer she made. I am totally wowed by that. I will need to take a picture. The jams are pretty nifty. Arizona-made and so on. I am sending her jam and things too. A good trade. She needs her taste of Washington Summer since she couldn't come up here this year. (I understand the needs of fellow-natives.)
Today would have been my Auntie Fern's 97th birthday. She made it to 93 which isn't nothing to sneeze at. Her daughter said to toast her with a vodka tonic. (Fern's drink of choice) She died just before Senor Onion was born. I think she would have loved my kids. I know they would have loved her. One of the last things Fernie said to my Mom was, "Life. It goes so fast." She is right. It does.
I am knee deep in books at the moment. I need to find time/space to just sit and read. *snorts* A Mother's lament.
I think we are leaning toward France for our holiday next year. Iceland does wow me in theory but I think I want to wait on that just a little bit. I think a week in the countryside in France just eating and playing with the kids seems about our speed. Now... to plan.
