Lets sit down and enjoy this.

Holy shit. I just realized that a few days ago. this little LJ of mine turned ten. Yeah. Ten. Woah there.
This giant pile of navel-gazing is old. It has documented me growing up. When it started I was twenty-one, a complete basket-case and utterly lost. Things are obviously better. Life is good. I waded through my twenties with the help of this thing and all the truly original and interesting people I have come to meet via this medium. So I have to give thanks you you lovely people.
(everyone can have internet hugs and cake)
Today was about making muffins, building nests out of pillows and blankets so the kids could pretend they were birds and reading books. A highlight was Senor Onion asking me to help him "fly". This involves me holding him and him putting his arms and legs out and he chirps while I fly him around the house. At least until my back gives out. Then Miss Biscuit has a go. Though she gets too wiggly. She is more of a penguin sort of bird. Low to the ground and prone to making odd faces.
It was incredibly cold today but I went out for a walk by myself this morning. The cold wind hurt but even fifteen minutes by myself did a lot toward clearing my head. My brain likes to wander to different places but now and then I was able to sort of be present in the moment. My attempt at slowly learning to meditate.
Maybe tomorrow I will make an angel food cake.

Date: 2011-02-26 05:26 am (UTC)What I usually do is save my egg whites from other things that require egg yolks (like ice cream) and freeze the egg whites until I have about 12 and then defrost. Ta-da. CAKE.

Date: 2011-02-26 10:55 am (UTC)Isn't it odd, though, how on a nearly daily basis, this place got you to document your life and write it down over a decade? If I had a paper journal, I might not be able to stick to that. And that, unlike other sites, it promises to maintain the archive, so long as it shall live? I remember back in that 9 or 10 years ago stage when you were the busy party girl workin' at the bookstore and occasionally cooking up some clever dish. Oh, how the times they have a-changed, eh?
