Today we took the kids to the Upper Skagit Valley to do some apple picking at one of my favorite farms. The drive was really lovely and the kids had a fun time. There were apples to eat, animals to play with and space to run around. The only draw-back was that it was a wee bit hot out. After picking apples until we were worn out we drove down to Mt. Vernon and went to the Calico Cupboard for lunch. I was really proud of how well-behaved the kids were. It isn't that they can be awful but it isn't easy to be patient in those circumstances. Thankfully we had plenty of crayons and paper. I will say the service at the restaurant wasn't the most timely but it was attentive without feeling as if they were hovering. ALL of the girls either had the most amazing racks in existence or they had seriously tight asses. I don't know if it was a requirement for the job. Makes me think of the Seinfeld episode with all the big-breasted waitresses. The food wasn't bad. We ended up buying a slice of pie and a GIANT cinnamon roll to bring home. Then we had a nice quiet drive home to have tea. Everyone was good and worn out and I realized I had the beginnings of a cold. Eh... such is life.

So. Did you adopt a dog? Or did Miss Biscuit try and sneak the dog out in an apple bag?

That poor dog fell asleep. I think if she could have, she would have snuck that dog home.

You would like the entire Skagit Valley. The lower-half is known around the world for its Tulips. (and festival) The farm is just off of the Cascade Highway so you could go right to the mountain range. It iis just a beautiful place with some amazing farms that keep going.
