Friends are creating all manner of things, people are experiencing the ups and downs of life, (new babies, old dear pets dying, health issues being sorted/worked through, new jobs, new lives) and finding new/interesting paths. Hurray for humanity.
As for me, we have finished the birthday stuff. Yesterday I made a bunch of marshmallows. I recalled why I only ever make a half batch, as I was up to my eye-balls in marshmallows, which isn't the worst thing but it gets messy when you are cutting them up (stick stuff) and rolling them in powdered sugar. I may make another batch that will be creamsicle flavored. But I need more corn syrup. And possibly sugar.
I am feeling the early itchings of doing some serious baking for Christmas. I also figured out the menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
I chase the children, I cook, I write. It is a good pattern of living.
