Senor Onion has been having leg cramps that wake him out of a sound sleep. I feel for the kid. I remember having horrible growing pains like that when I was a kid. I gave him tylenol and put a heating pad on the painful area and just held him until the pain went away. It took about ten minutes but I am sure for him it felt never-ending. We sat on the sofa while I listened to Radio 4. It made me think of when he was a baby and I would be up in the middle of the night with him. Though his legs and arms now spill everywhere. He is a tall gangly kid. Once the pain stopped I ended up holding him for awhile as he had fallen asleep. A rare moment when we have that Mom/Senor Onion time without interruption. (other than James Naughtie leaning on someone for being a lying liar or something)

I went through the house today and took an inventory of all of our pictures and paintings. Added all up, it was quite a few and yet when looking on the walls, it seems like we could use more. I also began work on counting everything in the kitchen. It is going to take some time. I had to make a frank admission to myself that I have a lot of kitchen stuff. I do use most of it. Really. Truly. But it is a lot. I once met a woman who told me about her completely stocked gourmet kitchen that had everything and yet she did not cook. She just liked the idea of being prepared should she ever actually decide to cook. She ordered in a lot. The woman even had a posh viking stove. What a waste of stove. Something heart-breaking about a really great range being wasted.

Listening to the BBC presenters pronounce Des Moines, Iowa is making me snort. Never change folk. Never change.

calcium, hot water bottles, stretching the heels (there's a story about bars of soap underneath the sheets that never made a bit of sense to me, but people swear by it)
tell alex he is now truly a member of my dad's family (dad used to get them as a kid as well).

I did some reading and apparently there is a genetic component to this. (if you had a parent who suffered from this -then you are more likely to suffer from it) Though one does need to keep an eye out for other issues blah blah (OMG CANCER) but he should be all right.
Yeah. I may give him some calcium before bed just to see if it might help.
I do wonder if he is going to be tall like his Uncles.
