I dropped my sister off a the train today. Then as we were driving toward home, Miss Plum burst into tears and then threw up all over herself. So she was weeping and vomiting (some more) and Senor Onion was declaring that it was disgusting and smelly, and it was also sleeting outside. I didn't have the heart to remind Senor Onion of the time when he was two and we had the most horrible day of travel, and he threw up all over the car and made things smelly and cried for four hours. (in addition to the nine hour flight)
But I did think, "seriously this is bothering you? amateur."

I was also up part of the night with Miss Biscuit. I should explain that my sister was staying on the futon in Miss Biscuit's room, and Miss Biscuit slept next to me. Miss Biscuit woke up at four am wanting a chat or something. She had her little flashlight clutched in her hands and decided to wake me up by flashing it in my eyes. It took about an hour and a half to settle her down. She would get comfortable and then twitch about, kick me, decide she wanted to sleep sideways. The usual. So yay. Sleep. Senor Onion came busting in at seven am demanding that I get up. I did manage to keep him from waking his sister (who slept in until eight. BLESS HER) So I had Senor grumpy-pants wanting breakfast, grousing about the fact that I told him that he needs to lower his voice because people MIGHT WANT TO SLEEP DAMMIT.

Whatever.

The one upside is that it was warm enough last night (and rained) that much of the snow melted. The weather experts are now saying that we won't have snow dumped on us in the great quantities we feared but I still wait in fear.

Ah fuck. It just started snowing again.
And my neck hurts.
So there you go.
A ride on the vomit comet. Unruly children. (though major props to my siblings for taking my son for a walk this morning.) A hurty neck, sleep deprivation, and possible snow.

Imma gonna watch Cary Grant movies tonight and eat my chocolate bar.

oh my word. i totally thought violet was going to puke last night. moments after deciding i felt pukey, she started doing that thing where they're so tired they're falling asleep, but something's causing them to wiggle around and wake up. went as far as getting out the vomit bowl and pallet and turning on little bear. and then BAM! right as rain and having a big time. better than having surprise projectile vomit in my face.

i hope plum is better by now. poor dear.

After Shorty laid on the sofa a bit, she was back to her old self. She ate three bowls of cheerios, went on a walk, and ran around the house.
I think it was motion sickness. it is something that is pretty common with us.

Obviously one needs to keep the vomit bowl about at all times.

That was quite a day and night - I will try never again to complain about the cat waking me up/being sick.
Motion sickness was a problem for some of my family, but not for my children - I wonder how I would have coped without the constant entertainment of bus journeys -

My son has always suffered from car sickness. (tends to be worse on winding roads) By now I am prepared. Miss Biscuit tends to suffer from air sickness. (flying is always a laugh riot) So it was a surprise to have her toss her cookies as it were, in the car.

You're getting snow? I'd love some. Hopefully there'll be some next week - but at least we have frost, so the trees are all pretty frosty white again.

And poor you, sick kids does wear one out. Hope you've got a good rest now.

It is snowing quie a bit today. I think we are up to four inches after all the snow melted yesterday. My poor mom has nearly a foot. (a pain because her chickens don't like the snow)
