Creation of audio awards for radio drama. I will put on the radio as background noise (Radio 4 got me through the middle of the night many times when I was nursing babies) but now and then I will catch some really great play on the radio and it will completely hook me. Some of the best stuff in the world to listen to. It seems like the actors and the listeners equally have the pleasure of getting lost in the moment.

I am trying to organize my brain a bit. There are the things I want to do. The things I need to do. And assorted details I must remember. Life is good. Very good. But I feel too damn distracted. My brain is trying its best to capture all of it and then I become overwhelmed. And some of it is just..... the January-ness of it all. It isn't depression, or ennui. It just might be that there is so much that I am not exactly sure where to focus. I suppose I ought to write down things so that they may seem a little more concrete and real.

My kids like to have the radio on. In this day of digital music and permanent ear buds, I find it touching and so vintage when they turn it on and just sit down on the sofa to chill.

I think the internet has been one of the best things for the medium of radio. the production costs are few in comparison to television/film, all you really need is enough bandwidth/servers to get it out there and more people can listen.
