This weekend when I wasn't trying on clothes, or hanging out with family, I was cooking. I was compulsively cooking. I was making everything. I made some rolls for Thanksgiving. (I freeze them and then warm them on the day) I made a cranberry mousse sorbet, christmas cake ice cream, cranberry sauce (which is easy to can) and roasted vegetables to use in soup.
My Mother in law sent me home with a few dozen eggs so I can do more cooking this week. I have more dough rising this morning (I think I need to make more rolls now that I know my middle brother in law is bringing his girlfriend and her daughter to Thanksgiving!) I am working on a really pretty cream of parsnip and apple soup for lunch, and I may make chocolate ice cream for Senor Onion's birthday (since I will be busier later in the week.) and think of something for dinner.
I am finding some emotional satisfaction by throwing myself into making things. I haven't felt this in a long time. A very very long time.

I sort of feel like I need to come up with another side dish for the big day.

If I'm remembering correctly, I think it's been over a year since you've blogged about this sort of excitement. I'm happy for you, and a touch envious - it's so much fun to whip together delicious food to share with family! Take lots of photos!
