SIX!
I am in awe of his sixness. I've been this awesome kid's Mother for six whole years. I was in awe of his existence from the second he was born. WOW. YOU! LOOK AT YOU! You are my kid. I was telling him last night about holding him when he was a few minutes old and looking at his eyes, and being amazed at how tiny his toes and fingers were and how he looked so surprised by everything. Everyone is pretty blown away by their kid for so many reasons. I still am. It is always exciting to see where is he at an the person he is becoming and is in the moment. He can read, he can figure out all kinds of interesting things on his own, still wants me to hold his hand just before he goes in to school, and when he is asleep, he looks exactly as he did when he was brand-new.

Date: 2012-11-28 08:54 pm (UTC)(I think I told you the story about the play I was costuming, and one of the actresses was a woman age 72, who had done a lot of performing in the USO during WWII. Her mother-yes!-came out from South Dakota to see the show, and afterward, came up, with her arm around her daughter, and told me thank you for "making such a beautiful costume for my baby.Wasn't she wonderful?" I had all I could do to keep from bursting into tears. I have since had the opportunity to find out that, yeah, that never changes.)
