It was too warm last night and I had many strange dreams.

One dream I had was that Margaret Cho was in this Carpenters-like band and she kept showing me her album covers while this nasty little dog kept humping the furniture.

Another dream involved Vince Vaughn....we shall talk about that later.

Sweet Sassy Molassy, my friend Nurit is having her appendix removed.
So those who are spiritually inclined think good thoughts.

I am off to make Tomato soup from scratch. Because I am that kind of talented girl.

I had a conversation with one of my co-workers about the greatest places on earth.
Hands down, a drug store wins.
You can find all sorts of wonderful things in a drug store, including a last-minute gift. Trust me.
The town I grew up in has the greatest drug store in the world. Even one of my bosses who has visited there agreed.

"I went in to buy a roll of film and goodness it was amazing. EVERYTHING was in there. It reminded me of my childhood...an old time mercentile."

In this particular drug store there is a soda fountain in the back, which makes the best burgers, pie, and milkshakes I have ever had. You would be amazed. They even have food for vegetarians.
Plus you can find things like pretty dishes (I got my souffle dish from there) greeting cards galore, autograph books, teddy bears, kitchen stuff, candy, dish towels, picture frames, magazines, sunglasses, books, toys, vases, cotton swabs and tons O makeup.
I love going in there and buying all sorts of impulse items, and then have a hot fudge sundae. *sighs with glee* Mmmmmm hot fudge.

Today I came home, did the dishes, took out the garbage, and took a three hour nap. I think I am pleasantly relaxed.

Ooooo I met a LJ person today. [livejournal.com profile] photosexual came in and purchased a magazine. He looks so mild-mannered compared to some of his photos.
I could tell you his credit card number and the magazine he purchased, but that might be a bit much.
But I will tell you this much, there were some slightly naked girls in the magazine.

I have a secret passion (besides eating champagne mangos naked)
I love to sing, I used to perform a lot and it was some of the happiest moments of my brief adolescence.

One of my deep pleasures is to sing out while no one is in the house. (I know, not terribly original, but I am fun to listen to) I don't sing the catalogue of Madonna, nor do I sing along with Miss Lopez.

I love to sing the songs of Cole Porter, George and Ira Gerswhin, Sammy Cahn, Kearns and Hart. The hit parade of the thirties and forties. Some wouldn't be too surprised when glancing through my collection of music. I harbor fantasies of returning to performing, yet I like just singing for myself, when no one can hear as I clean. The other day, I sang, "It ain't Neccessarily so", "Anything Goes, "Caberet" and for my finale, "Lady is a Tramp" (all of the verses) and my soul felt so free.

Yet, when someone catches me, I immediately stop singing, I feel embarrassed and I will deny even opening my mouth. Which as my mother would say in her exasperated tone, "Gennie, that is so damn stupid. You realize how foolish that is, it isn't like someone is going to laugh at you. geez you are so damn neurotic sometimes."

I need a show, where I can do the laundry, and sing.
That would be a great Vegas act...or maybe reno.
What do you think?
