A moment of silence please.

The great Mr. Charles Bronson has passed away.

In honor of him, I will have to watch the Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, and the Dirty Dozen. *does the sign of the cross*

Ah the memories of being a child and 'Tough Guy Thursdays' on channel eleven and the likely possibility of seeing a Charles Bronson flick.

Another labor day is upon us.
I am so used to the weather being overcast on this particular day. I often think to ease us into the idea of Fall.

This year that isn't the case. We are doing the Sun thing like it is a Cher farewell tour. You think it is over, but it just keeps going.
Fortunately there are less clips of the old Sonny and Cher show and Bob Mackie outfits.

Today we are going to Bumbershoot, to look at stuff, eat stuff and do stuff.
I know you are thinking, "I am sensing a theme here...."

Now are coming to my favorite time of year. I adore Autumn, I love the colors, the weather and the sensations I get at particular times of day. Everything begins to calm down a little and I can begin to enjoy myself a little more.

So many things to think about.

My mother is having a birthday soon. A Film festival, Halloween, Thanksgiving...life.

Wait a minute...Things aren't calming down. Forget all of that. Oh well.

Also in four months I have a birthday. (to those who are interested I would like a pony, a pair of red shoes and candyland the board game. [livejournal.com profile] cusackam already gave me the Pretty Pretty Princess game, so don't worry about that)

Let's enjoy those Halcyon days of yore.

Oh yeah...
So this morning I am reading the paper and Andrew is sitting at the computer and suddenly says very loudly, "OH MY GOD."

I should point out that he is a fairly quiet man by nature, not given to hysterics. (that is my forte) So when he says something like that you know it is significant.

It seems that his friend's Ray and Jennie (Andrew went to University with them, and I met them when we went to England...she was the girl who had me drunk talking to firemen...long story) have become engaged.

They had been together for awhile, but they seem to flounce the idea of making it legal.
So this was quite a surprise.

I think Andrew is slightly shocked by the idea of close friends doing grown up stuff like getting engaged. He was in a bit of a daze while making tea.
Mind you we also had some friends get engaged a couple of weeks ago.

It sometimes feels like the walls are closing in on you.
