We wandered out and about today. Miss Kitty and I went and had Korean BBQ, looked at Hello Kitty products, (is it wrong to secretly have a liking for the Hello Kitty toaster) and I bought adorable tupperware-like stuff and egg noodles. We then went to look at shoes. That is so dangerous and I am such an enabler. Miss Kit and I went to Nordstroms just to look and then she sees the most adorable ballet flats. She has been looking for some and they are soooo on sale and of course it goes downhill from there. A cute man gets her size, they fit perfectly and I tell her, "You have to buy those. They are so Audrey." She does. We were really supposed to be looking at shoes to wear with her Maid of Honor dress; which by the way is so cool and will be so chic this fall with the faint Russian gypsy look that is coming into fashion. Once we acquired the cute ballet flats for her we went back to the original mission of the wedding shoes. (thrilling adventure non?) We went to Nine West where everything was dull, then to Macy's where things were slightly interesting but not quite right and in the end it was the cheap shoe place that had the ideal shoe. Such perfection. And so kind to the pocketbook. I also found the shoes I want to wear for the wedding as well. Slight kitten heel, not your traditional kind of bridal shoe and it made me think of a Princess. (as I like to say, 'I am a princess dammit.') I couldn't purchase them today because they didn't have my exact size but I shall order them online. These shoes have to kind of serve a double-function. The day after the wedding we leave for the honeymoon and I don't want to drag around nine million pairs of shoes on holiday. (eight million sure) so I think I can also wear these as dressy shoes. Can I freaking shop and pack or what? *takes a curtsy*
Yeah so we were satisfied people. We then went to Ross and found some cheap panties as well. Then it was time to come home and be lazy. I also had to prepare things for Chicken pie tonight.
Some choice quotes from our adventures today were:
"I was nearly smothered to death by my own boobs."
"My favorite: pig intestines."
"I am a seaweed whore."
"Look at you! You are too short to cook."
They may have made slight sense in relation to the context of our conversations but they are still amusing to my sister and I.
....
We have been pouring over the various fall Fashion magazines because together we are impressive clothes horses who sometimes start snorting when we say things like, "well I am nearly done building my wardrobe but I am still not satisfied." and I noticed a plethora of Russian inspired
fur hats and Victorian clothing. It is a bit like doing Dr. Zhivago all over again.
bbcaddict mentioned this the other day. It makes me wonder if I will see anything like that on the hipper than thou this Autumn and Winter. Probably not. Seattle isn't terribly good at things like that. Unless it is easy.
There is a sick part of me that would almost want to rock the look. It is a chance to play into my Julie Christie fantasies. *snorts*
Now I am off to bed. I have to get up early tomorrow and deliver Miss Kitty to Summer camp where it will be all girls. I told her that being at an all girl Catholic Summer camp she will be one step away from rampant porn lesbianism. Yet she is still keen to go.
