Tonight dinner involved pate and then ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach and a truffle sauce. It was earthy and buttery all at once. I approve. Mr. Jenner had crostinis with mushrooms and cheese and then he worked his way through a four cheese risotto. It was classy Italian comfort food.
Then because we like to go for broke we had dessert. Mr. Jenner chose a sponge cake with currants and blueberries and I had the creme caramel and a strong bit of espresso.
Yes a lot of wine was had. All for under 40 euros. Can I fucking pick a restaurant or what?????

Today at lunch we went to a little snack bar-ish place that has been open since 1874 or so and we leaned against a stone wall eating beautiful sandwiches stuffed with prosciutto and salami while sipping a small glass of wine. Mr. Jenner said it was equally civilized and uncivilized.

We went to this giant market this morning. They had stalls selling all parts of animals. Lots of fruit and everything else you could think of. Wine, limonello, mushrooms, pasta, sweets, kitchen things. I know of so many people who would love this place. Mr. Jenner found tiny oranges from Spain that he recalls eating as a child on holiday. He bought a bunch and has been eating them all day. There is nothing finer than being able to recapture a moment from childhood with food.

We went to Perche No! for gelato. Oh that was ever "the sex!"
Mr. Jenner chose chocolate and fruitti di bosco (mixed fruit) and I had persimmon and riso (kind of like rice pudding)
We moaned and enjoyed loudly. All the way to San Croce Church where we looked at the tomb of Galileo. (we saw his finger at the science museum)

We may not make it to the Uffizi or see the statue of David but we are seeing many other things and eating such glorious food. I have to say the food in Florence has been much more satisfying than the food in Venice.

The rain is a bit disappointing at times.

The purses here are too sexy. Too too sexy. I need one.

Today I found presents for my Mother and my sister. They will love them. I found the most perfect Christmas present for my Mom. She will go apeshit when she gets the present. Of course now she will be trying to find out what it is until Christmas. Oh Mom.

More postcards to send.
