oh the pain
Jan. 6th, 2008 09:55 pmI went to IKEA early this morning.
It wasn't entirely chaotic but it still leaves a person feeling exhausted. I think it is because they always keep the place too warm. Even if you take most of the short-cuts you feel like you have walked for ages. They didn't have what I wanted. We need a "TV Solution' (those Swedes and their colorful phrasing -we just call it a TV stand or something) as Senor Onion is a little too clever and has figured out how to turn on the DVD player, the TV and the computer. Yes. Clever with the buttons. *sighs*
The one I liked and fit in size and decoration scheme was "oversold". In my day *plays grumpy old lady for a moment* we called it "out of stock".
I saw an attractive lighting fixture there today. I didn't buy it as I wanted to discuss it with Mr. Jenner as a potential replacement for the dated and down right unattractive chandelier that currently hangs in our dining room. I go to look for it IKEA's website and it wasn't there.
Apparently I imagined it. One has to admire that kind of skill. Hallucinating attractive chandeliers in the giant Warehouse of blonde particle board.
I may order the "TV Solution" online. I do not have the patience to face the cruel Swedish environment so soon.
Tonight I made roast beef, yorkshire pudding, potatoes roasted in goose fat and some sliced carrots for dinner.
The Sundays of many roasts. That is my theme for the winter yet again. Roasts and naps.
