It is cooler today. Much more comfortable. I slept well last night too. At least until someone named Senor Onion woke me up a little after six am wanting company. He was calling out for me like he had a serious problem. When I got up to see what was the matter he just wanted me to come and sit on the sofa and observe him like the Sun King he is. I politely declined and told him to give me some time. I went back to bed. He joined me a few minutes later and wiggled about as small children do when you are attempting to sleep and they want to be next to you.

Last night when it was around Dusk a breeze started. It was pleasant but within a matter of minutes the wind whipped up something fierce and it began to blow loose things all over the deck and the large Maple trees that act as a sort of buffer between us and the neighbors behind us began to bend and twist loudly. Looking out the front windows the sky was bright pink and dusty too. The wind was going absolutely crazy. Power went out in some places. It has been so hot lately and there has been so much cottonwood stuff in the air (it looks like it is snowing outside sometimes) and so there was a fair amount of pollution from all the dryness. Cliff Mass the local awesome weather geek wrote about last night's wind here. (yes he does have the most awesome name ever. He also has a voice like he has been smoking three packs a day since he was five.)

Things are more comfortable. The plants are looking good. I went through and did a bit of light weeding. If I go out everyday and just pull at little bits here and there I can keep on top of things. My sage plant is blooming and it looks really beautiful and the bees are drawn to it.

Later today the weekly visit to the farmer's market. A good way to graze.
