I am continuing my theme of turning into my Grandpa. I wrote more letters to my Senators about health care reform. One Senator in particular is getting extra grief from me because of some of her "ideas". She seems like a nice enough lady but lordy charisma isn't her strong-suit, but she keeps getting re-elected because she is usually better than the alternative. I admit half of my inspiration/ire is born out of my Mother's situation. I told my Mother she has a one-person advocate in me who is going to harass people in Washington on her part. The more I read things and wade through all of the information the more committed I am to want to make real reform happen. Not just for my Mom or even my family but for everyone. No one should have to fear losing their house because they get sick. Or decide between eating or getting their prescription. I think for me this is a moral issue.

I bought some amazing nectarines this morning. They are just so good. I may need to go back and get more. They are just so sweet and perfect. If there is anything that smells and tastes of Summer, it is a ripe nectarine. Leaning in and smelling them was perfection. Need more fruit in my life. Though I did tear through a watermelon yesterday. This is why Summer is worth having. All that fruit.

I should bake some cookies or brownies later today.
