I sort of feel this urge to nest but it is manifesting itself in inane ways. I am looking at interesting contact paper to put down in my kitchen shelves. Nothing like a random obsession with contact paper and shelf liners. I also re-organized some of the shelves and tidied them up a bit. I need a new duster to get rid of the ceiling cobwebs.
Really my problem is that I look at Apartment Therapy and I suddenly want new bedding or something. "yeah. Bedding. Lighting. That will make things better"

I have child-care pretty much lined up/sorted for Senor Onion. I am meeting with a doula next week. So those things aren't hanging over my head as much.

Now to look over the list of things that need to be attended to and whatever.

My latest grand idea, since cupcake shops have been done to death and really cupcakes are passe (yes if you like them eat them. for feck's sake.) I think it is time we moved into brownie shops. I discussed this with a friend yesterday. The options are unlimited. There can even be something for the vegans/people with dietary issues. There can be brownies with frosting/glaze and sans all that jazz. Brownies with stuff in them. Brownies that are simple and bare. Plus blondies and peanut butter brownies. You know a brownie shop would be awesome. Even brownie bites for the short set. Brownies and some nice beverages. If you were really feeling wild you could have a shop that offered brownie sundaes. But only if you were feeling ambitious. Brownies. This should be the next great American fetish.

Now for the serious questions:
Should I make peach ice cream or nectarine ice cream?

He had a couple of melt-downs over his shoes this morning. He couldn't get them on right. He wanted to do it himself. But we got him sorted in the end.
We went to the library and we also went to the bakery. We go there once a month where he can get a happy face cookie. He calls them. Mr. Happy Cookies. (as they do look a bit like a Mr. Men) When I went to pay for it, he sat himself down at a table and waited patiently. He pointed out a picture of the Space Needle. (Space noodle) We later went for a short walk along Lake Washington and he pointed out the big bridge.
He didn't really nap today, but he was all right for the most part. I was reading Snuggle Puppy to him today and he said, "Oh I like this book so much!" He played in his wading pool and helped me water the garden. He brought out all of his stuffed friends onto the sofa and we watched Max & Ruby.

Two isn't too bad. He is definitely independent and strong-willed like me. He wants to do it all himself. Just ask him. "NO! I WILL DO IT!" (okay then pal.) But he is one cuddly little bunny. He greets me every morning with hugs and kisses.

At night I come in and remove the excess toys from his bed (he hoards all kinds of interesting things under the covers) and straighten him out. (he migrates more than grey whales) I give him a kiss on his head.
