Monday excitement!
Nov. 2nd, 2009 01:19 pmMr. Jenner wasn't feeling so well this morning. He felt a bit better after breakfast and went downstairs to work. I took the kids grocery shopping. Yes, grocery shopping can be a fun activity for the whole family. Both of them were very good and calm but I always feel like I ought to be given an award or ribbon for surviving it. I had my list of things to get, we stopped and looked at the play-dough and toys but I made it clear, "nothing will be had." Senor Onion and I mostly discussed what he would like for his birthday. We saw a few nifty things I made a note of. We walked past the Christmas ornaments already on display, "look at all of that red" and it was good all around. To live it up a little we bought some Bosc pears. Senor Onion asked for some because he liked the color. I can't turn down a request for fruit. We even got to go through the line of one of my favorite cashiers. He is always singing a little bit. Last time he was humming "All the Single Ladies". He is such a nice guy and chats it up with Senor Onion.
We all came home in one piece and everyone had lunch and we watched a few episodes of Bugs Bunny. Mr. Jenner came upstairs looking like death warmed over. He also has the shivers. I took his temp and it is 101 degrees. I am not saying anything about hamthrax right now because I refuse to let it in the house. I chopped up a bunch of garlic cloves and stirred it into some chicken broth and made him drink that. I also had some. Garlic for all y'all. I made Mr. Jenner go to bed. I put Senor Onion down for his nap (and he did it without trying to negotiate like some failing banker) and now I am holding Miss Biscuit who is also napping. She nurses. She sleeps. Then she nurses and sleeps some more. I sense a theme.
I am going to acupuncture tonight, which I am looking forward to. I suspect I will fall asleep pretty easily. Maybe I will get some frozen custard afterward!
