Took the kids to the library this morning. Ended up with a nice haul of books. I also found a couple of things for myself. One might hold real possibility. The other is about some famous characters from the gilded age of New York. (Consuelo Vanderbilt and her domineering Mother) We were going to go to the bakery afterward but we found they were closed for a week. Senor Onion was deeply disappointed. "Can't you open it?" I love that he believes I have that kind of power. We went to the playground instead. He kicked around a soccer ball, did a few rounds on the slide and then we walked along the beach. We saw the same four ducks that we saw last time. Including the one with the missing foot. They came up to greet us. Senor Onion bent down and quacked at them. It was getting cold and windy so we went home for lunch. We read stories, ate macaroni and cheese and then? Senor Onion napped. Yes. Miss Biscuit napped too. It was wild exciting times for me. And by exciting wild times I mean I cleaned up the kitchen a bit and read a book. I was in heaven. Well okay I could have done without having to tidy the kitchen but I liked the alone time. No one needed holding for a little bit. No one trying to climb the walls or act out a death wish.

My new bathing suit arrived. It is hot pink and the top has polka-dots. Thanks to Lands End for selling reasonable bathing suits that don't make me want to put on a burqa.

I think tomorrow there will be grocery shopping and hey we might even bake some brownies. I just need to think of something to make for dinner. Maybe I will just stare at things in the grocery store and will some kind of inspiration.
