I was watching an episode of No Reservations where Anthony Bourdain was in Venice. There was a scene where they were watching someone make seafood risotto and it was breath-taking to watch the skill that went into creating this exquisite dish. There was so much gentle effort at play. It was over-whelming to witness the art of cooking like that. I aspire for my risotto to be as half as good as that one day. It makes me want to try even harder in the kitchen but there is that present reality that while I can make dinner I will never be CarĂªme. Or some anonymous cook who does something so brilliantly day in and day out.

Oh well at least I am good at eating.

I hope the weather isn't too awful tomorrow. I want to go to the market and see what captures my attention. I have so many things I want to make.
