Today is my Grandpa Tony's birthday. He is 85 and he is hardcore. My brother tried to call him today but couldn't get a hold of him and so he called our Uncle Ange to see what was up. It seems that our Grandpa might be in Tahoe partying. The only way to describe the man is that he is like Elaine's Dad on Seinfeld. Here is a scene from the episode.

Yesterday morning I had grand plans to go out and run a few errands. I backed the car out of the garage and there was a sound much like I had run over something. I had a look and lucky me there was a flat tire! I had AAA come out to put the spare on it. It being Sunday, various assorted tire places were not open. It wasn't a massive bother. Just one of those minor things that makes a person go, "feh" Thankfully we live in a place with pretty decent public transport so I was able to take the bus up the hill to the farmers market. I bought some raspberries and cherries. I came home and made chocolate raspberry jam and a summer pudding. I also took an inventory of what I have canned so far this year and what is left to do.

Today the weather was cool. It was deeply welcomed. I was able to take the car up the hill to the tire place. I went across the street to the grocery store for a few things and then walked down the hill to wrangle the kids. The full damage of things when it came to the car involved two tires being replaced (one was about to have a flat) and all that jazz. Huzzah. Jezebel the car is happy once again.
