I took Miss Biscuit in for her 18 month check-up. She is a skinny miss but tall and big-headed. The doctor seemed pleased with how she is coming along. Miss Biscuit spent most of the time playing with the doctor's assorted things and giggling about all of it. Developmentally she is where she should be and she is definitely becoming more of a toddler every single day. Today she spotted some more dogs outside and said in a very clear voice, "hello doggies" It took me by surprise.
The other night I was holding her while she was asleep and she burst into giggles. It must have been some dream. She continued to smile here and there. She obviously inherited my side's tradition of talking/laughing in one's sleep. People are famous in my family for the things said in a state of sleep. My brother Tom was the best for the time he said in his sleep, "I left my pants in Baltimore."
It has been pouring again. We are entering monsoon season and so the ground is saturated. Mr. Jenner woke up in the middle of the night because it was pouring so hard and of course he was worried about the basement. Yes indeedy there was some flooding. Nothing major but the carpet was soaked. So he went at the carpet in the middle of the night with the shop-vac. Today was spent dealing with that and also doing more work on the trench outside that has been dug to keep the water away from the house.
Now to enjoy cocoa and toast.
