a review of a birthday
Sep. 3rd, 2011 10:05 pmMiss Biscuit turned two and we kept things fairly relaxed. She opened presents (some while talking to Nana & Granddad via skype) and was filled with great joy. Granny (Mr. Jenner's Grandma) gave Miss Biscuit a Maisy doll. She went bananas. Here is the proof. Maisy is one day old and already looks well-loved. (the chocolate stains are proof) Later on Grandma came over and brought more presents. Hurray! Grandma continued her theme of "horsies". After that it was off to the zoo. (horsies and Maisy came with us) As usual we had a grand old time. "MUMMMMMYYYYY!!!!! Dat a giraffe" "yes it is" "GRAMMMMMMAAAAAAA!!!! Dat a heppo" (heppos are hippos) "yes it is" She tried to hug the tapir through the glass, she was a fan of the elephants and thoroughly enjoyed the family farm. GOATS! COWS!
Senor Onion lead the way since he got the map. He really wanted to see the owls. We saw the owls. He also really loved the gorillas. He and the eldest female of the flange of gorillas had a good look at one another. She stuck her tongue out at him. Pete is the oldest gorilla there and he is always something to behold. After a lovely visit it was time to go home for cake and tea.
In awe of cake. It was a big chocolate cake with chocolate mousse frosting. Here is the recipe. It isn't too hard to make and is a moist cake. Everyone loves to eat it.
Miss Biscuit was so worn out at this point in the day that she didn't eat much. Later on we had dinner and Miss Biscuit soon crashed with Maisy of and course her dearly beloved 'Rora. (a rather grubby looking pony Grandma gave her last year for her birthday) She looked quite sweet clutching her friends.
as my Mother said, "She is definitely a pistol."

(here she was hiding in a wolf cave with other children at the zoo)
