it's a tortilla with meat and cheese...look let me just bring you something okay?

This particular rage comic suddenly reminded me of a slightly funny thing that happened to me on my birthday one year. I was at a Mexican restaurant with my Mother and siblings having a nice birthday lunch. Yes I am of Mexican descent but like many Americans my ancestors were big ol' whores and slept with everyone so I am nice and mixed. But that said I do have dark hair, like gold jewelry and can appreciate tejano music. While at the restaurant I went to use the bathroom and then on my way back to my table this guy signals me and I pause and say, "yes?" He says, "can we get more tortilla chips?" I was startled and said, "um... I don't work here." He looked surprised and just said, "oh." (I wondered if he was going to ask, "well can you ask if we can get more chips?", like I had an in?) I smile and say, "sorry" and go back to my table. My family had noticed me being signaled by the guy and asked what that was all about. I told them and they proceeded to wildly laugh. Part of what made it so funny is that the servers in the restaurant wear uniforms. They wore maroon shirts with the logo of the restaurant. I was probably wearing a sweater (since it was the middle of winter)
To me it is just another amusing moment in life.
