May. 26th, 2012 12:06 amApparently dumping all of my emotions and whining on LJ pays off.
This morning (fairly early too, for assorted delivery types) the doorbell rang and hot-diggity-dog it was Fedex and they had my VISA AND the extra stuff we gave them. I got my passport (avec visa) and my marriage certificate and those photos we sent to prove we were indeed a couple who do couple things like hanging out with our kids at the gnome reserve. If that doesn't prove how damn real things are.. well I don't know what ever would.
Mr. Jenner sent an email to the head teacher of the school and they seem cool with us possibly attending their little school. As school does not let out until July, and we will BE THERE in July, we will stop by for a visit and judge them. Points in their favor: they do not use comic sans for their font on their website. They also have a club where kids can learn violin. VIOLIN. I wonder if it is the suzuki method? Questions. I will have them.
My Mother inlaw is understanding more about our needs for our car and is getting Dr. Jenner to understand things too. Which is good. We will eventually find a car. I am learning a great deal about models of cars I knew nothing about. (as they don't exist in the US) There are a few things I am sure of. French cars don't seem reliable. German cars are expensive. One is better off riding a unicycle on fire than owning a Fiat. And some things are so ugly that they should be taken out back and put down like Ol' Yeller.
Plus some other things are slowly coming together. How about that. We celebrated the week with hot dogs and ice cream. I also took the kids out to the farmers market today. (it was a couple of blocks from the shooting) There were a lot of people there. It was a good sort of presence to show, "alas dear gang members, we still want to buy tomato starts, spring greens, and over-priced raw food." I bought lettuce and some baked goods for the kids. We got to pet an Irish Wolfhound. Senor Onion could not believe that was a dog at first. The dog kept trying to lick me. Miss biscuit looked a bit like she was figuring out how she might saddle up and ride that dog away into the sunset. We also had horchata. Best thing on a hot day.
I suspect that this weekend will be devoted to doing a little lazing and a little more home-improvement.
