Sep. 13th, 2012 11:25 pmSenor Onion is having better days. With a bit of prompting from me and from the teacher, he keeps trying harder and harder. He is evening grasping reading more and more everyday. Go Senor Onion. The kid is earning house points. Yes he goes to Hogwarts.
There is some comfort in knowing that nearly every kid in the class is adjusting in assorted ways. There was a child that Senor Onion pointed out on the playground and he said, "he is the naughty one in the class." I quickly pointed out, "He is likely having some trouble adjusting... JUST like you. So you must not say he is naughty. He isn't. He is just a kid having some trouble. So you need to be kind to him."
Another little girl has a break down every single day she comes to school. It is heart breaking. I think her family may rethink the school thing. It isn't like she has ever been in a school setting but for some reason this is really scary for her.
In fun/exciting news, my sister in law has decided to put the twins in the same preschool as Miss Biscuit. Their other preschool wasn't very good, the girls were truly miserable and not participating. It wasn't a good fit all around. BUT the girls who tend to be pretty shy with most people (and most new situations) had a total blast. They spoke to the teacher, did a lot of good playing, and they liked having a cousin there. A room full of female Jenners. Miss Biscuit loves/adores the heck out of school. It involves her two favorite activities: playing with toys and having a biscuit at snack time. Her teacher is impressed with how quickly the kid has picked up the routine and thrives under it. The only downside is that she doesn't quite qualify yet for free funding as she didn't turn three in time but it is only for one term. After that she will have it. And even the cost of it is rather cheap compared to what we would have paid at the co-op. As the school is on the same grounds at Senor Onion's school, it makes life quite simple. Senor Onion told me he spotted Miss Biscuit in her area today while he was outside doing some activity.
I am up too late. I need sleep. For tomorrow there is more blackberry picking to be done.
