On occasion I make things happen. I moved so fast that England collectively had its head spin.
Where were we on Monday?
Oh yes.
Crippled.
Landlord telling us we need to move by the end of March.
Estate agents saying, "sorry we don't have anything in the area."
Well I took a bunch of codeine, but we found that it makes me super itchy/rashy, and other uncool side effects. Valium is great though. Everyone should have valium. I gave up on the codeine yesterday and I feel better in all kinds of ways. (and yes I called Dr. No-beardo and said, "I can't do the codeine. It gave me anxiety attacks, made me itch like mad, and other unfun things. Can I give it up? please?" he said, "sure. If things don't improve or the pain is too much we'll find you something else.") I am now less itchy. Less raspy. My back is improving. It is still incredibly fragile and I can only do so much. But I stood up and walked around a lot today. I fucking pottered.
I found a house online and booked a viewing. (a house repped by the dumb agency, and about a mile or so from our current house.) Look at me googling in a drugged out haze.
We saw the house today. I took a bunch of pictures. You can view them here. We asked a load of questions. I brought my sister in law along and she asked many questions. The house is quirky. It's old. It has an uneven floor, it has a rayburn, and it is massive. But it had a lot of good qualities about it. And it has a six months tenancy so one could up sticks after six months if there were too many ghosts and White Queen's in the wardrobe. It's near the school. It has some of the most terrifying carpets. It would be a bit of a bitch to heat but it has qualities. Oh and it comes with a grand piano, a dining set, and a couple of sideboards. And these little church pews in the kitchen. The damp isn't much of an issue. There are apple trees in the garden. It would be about the same as what we are paying now. (and water/sewage would be included.)

We decided to take it. We didn't even have to pay the application/reference fee since we are already clients of the estate agency. We sign the rental contract in the next few days and we can move at the end of the month.

I take January and I bend it to my will.

And again, valium and hot baths are great.
