I am slowly re-introducing coffee into my system after a 16 year hiatus. My body metabolizes coffee really really slowly so it feels much more like a nasty speed trip, than a nice little pick-me-up. BUT I have been able to have a cup here and there (no sugar, but a fair amount of milk.) and I am all right. I might be able to chalk this up to the running and my metabolism doing a bit better and processing things differently. I can't drink pots and pots like my Mom and some of my siblings. Those people are professionals. But a cup early in the day is all right. I get a slight zoom, but I am not having the tremors, the racing heart-beat, the manic/scary feelings, followed by extreme exhaustion, sick feeling in my stomach, and more tremors/itchies.
I find I do even better if I follow it up soon afterwards with protein, and maybe a run.

I spent part of yesterday ripping out loads of brambles, nettles, and other weeds from this one neglected part of the garden. There is still loads to do with that bed, because it is pretty big, and there are more brambles to hack away at, and roots to dig up. I only came away with a few stings, and I planted some lavender. I am thinking that I will put in plants I like but don't mind leaving should/when we ever move out. I need to go to a nursery and look for some more things that can be ignored a bit, enjoys the sun, attracts bees, and pretties up the joint. (So mediterranean things.)

I am growing a couple of tomato plants in the green house, and I hope to put them out at some point. But first I must attack more of the nettles. Maybe I will be brave and cook with some of them. Supposedly they are good for things like psoriasis. We have enough of the damn things, so I might as well eat the fuckers. (I am also composting the lot.)

We have enough brambles in other areas, that I will let those flower and hopefully we will have a good crop of blackberries at the end of Summer -about the time the apple trees will come on. And we might even have cherries from a tree.
