Saturday morning we took the kids to Nana's for a sleep-over, and we drove up to Stratford to see some Theatre. It is probably the same distance to London, but I genuinely enjoy going to the RSC. This was a Christmas present I got for Mr. Jenner. It was just random luck that it landed on Valentine's Day. Romantic and well-scheduled. It was just good fun to have a non-interrupted conversation, and to do a few things we don't get to do often. We dropped things off at the hotel, changed our clothes, and wandered into the town center. There were bookshops to investigate. There is a used bookshop we have been to before, and we could take our time looking at our favorite subjects, peruse the children's section to see if there was anything that would be perfect for the kids. We stopped at a vintage/antique area, because there is a stall I like, and I found this fantastic vintage lemon branch brooch from the 50s. It was one of the first things to catch my eye. I perused a few other things, but I kept going back to that. It brought that spark of joy. We then went and ate tapas, and then watched, "Much Ado About Nothing." There wasn't anyone terribly famous in it, but it was a fantastic production. An absolute gem with a lot of good working actors. One of those shows, where you want to go out and see some more theatre, and makes you appreciate how many good working actors there are in this country.
We made our way back to the hotel, and passed out like tired bunnies.
The following morning we got up and drove to Tewkesbury for breakfast, and a walk around the area. It is a beautiful place with a lot of timber buildings. There are a number of interesting shops. Most were closed as it was Sunday morning, but it was good to be reminded how much I like that place as well. Must return soon.
We showed up at my inlaws in time for tea and cake. Excellent timing.

The kids are off school this week. Hurray for half-term. Yesterday Miss Biscuit had her best friend over for a good play. Senor Onion skipped off to his best friend's next door, and I baked a load of things, and had a nice chat with Miss Biscuit's friend's Mother. We are meeting up with them later this week for a visit to the Eden project.

Today I took the kids out. Senor Onion moaned a bit about it because I took him away from minecraft but he cheered up quick. We bought him new school shoes as his are about to fall apart, and I ended up buying Miss Biscuit some new play shoes. We had a look in the toy shop, went to the dairy to buy cheese and bread, and then tried to go to the library but found it was closed. So instead we went and had a light lunch before going to the movies to see the Shaun the Sheep film. I try and take them to a film during half-term holidays as a treat, and this was excellent timing. There was a trailer for the new star wars film. We had seen it on youtube, but there is something extra special about seeing it on the big screen. Senor Onion and I are both super psyched about this. We both cheered and agreed that we HAVE to see this when it comes out. It is one of the best things to share with him. Finally I dragged the patient children to the grocery store, and then home for tea. We came home to find we had some furniture delivered. The dining room is looking more or less done. I just need to have some pictures framed and it might be it.

Tomorrow we have my inlaws over for tea. I should try and tidy up the damn toys. Again.
