I ordered new running shoes. They have a bit of pink on them. My last couple of pairs have been blue and silver, so pink and black seem like a nice change. I suspect that with my shoes I should make a point to replace them sooner rather than later, as this is the second winter in a row where my back/hip went a bit wonky, and the shoes kind of play into that. I had run a few times after healing in my old shoes and after the run things were painful for a few days. Today I ran and there were twinges but it has been fine and dandy since. It was freaking cold and windy but it was sunny. It was a better run than last week's. I think I should be able to move up to running a few times a week again.
I am still working with kramercat. She shows up acting all sweet and nice and then she tries to pick a fight with Oscar. He has no interest in fighting. I know she is a cat who likes to play and be active. She will play fight with a ball, or those catnip mice. Oscar isn't like that. I just don't want her batting at him because it makes him shy and he hid under Miss Biscuit's bed for a couple of hours today. I think I may just keep Kramer out of the way until she can behave.
I had a rather funny moment on twitter this afternoon. I was having a conversation with a friend about gender dynamics/culture. It related to a book I am reading, and comparing it to another book I had just read. (both are in the same genre) We were making a few jokes, and some random person jumped in our mentions. I had a quick look at his profile and his tweets and I suspect he is the sort who likes to start a debate. I don't know if he was hoping for a response saying, "come at me bro." Instead I said something that I have been known to say to my children. "Shhh, don't interrupt. So and so and I are having a conversation." It shut him down. He apologized and got out of the way. Maybe be that should be the de facto response. I doubt it works in every situation, but I think that might be a steady one.
