School continues. I know England goes longer than some, but good lord this last month leaves a parent kind of phoning it in. "yeah sure whatever... those clothes will work for now."
There are a lot of field trips, and I have to sign a million things and make sure there are packed lunches.

Tuesday it was screaming hot, so I picked up the kids from school and took them over to Nana's to swim in the pool with their cousins. We will have access to this pool for just a couple more weeks. I suspect the grandchildren might collectively lean on Granddad to build a small pool at the new house. It hit Miss Biscuit when we left Nana's house that soon, she won't be able to visit this house anymore. And she broke down in tears. It is sad that the house is selling because it has meant a lot to everyone. It was such a surprise when they got the call that they would complete on the house on the 15th, after months of delays due to various hiccups. Suddenly it became, "rush rush rush gotta pack." But my inlaws are completely ready to retire and not feel so tied to a place. It's a big funny pile that is often too cold and filled with just a touch of damp, but it has been a great house to let kids run around and live. It was ten years ago in June that I first came and visited the place and England! So long and yet not.

I do believe I have a pretty steady gig writing for that tiny magazine. Thankfully I don't have to churn something out everyday and I can take my time to get something right. But it is a little terrifying.
Oh hey, you wanted to write.
Now you do.
So get cracking.
Fuck.
